Dr. Sue Teele, Associate Dean and Director of Education Extension at the University of California, Riverside has been servicing gifted students and teachers the past 30 years. She is in charge of the Gifted and Talented Certificate program which provides opportunities for teachers to receive in-depth content and methodologies for working with gifted and talented students.

For twenty-nine years Dr. Teele has also administered a specialized 2 week summer program for gifted and talented 3rd through 7th grade students. The program called Expanding Horizons provides opportunities for students to take enrichment courses in drama, art, computers, math, science, languages, economics, writing etc.

Dr. Teele’s philosophy is that education must provide ways for all students to succeed and ensure that students are able to achieve their full potential.

Having served on the Board of Directors for California Foundation for Gifted Education for the past three years, Dr. Teele views the foundation as an excellent way to acknowledge students, teachers, administrators and parents for their outstanding achievements in gifted education.

She is proud to be a member of the CFGE Board and wants to continue to assist both teachers who teach gifted students and gifted and talented students.
